EL TORO : Meeting Tonight on Air Station’s Future

An informational meeting on how the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station may be utilized once it is closed will be held tonight at the Sea Country Senior and Community Center.
Marine Col. Jim Ritchie will discuss the base closure and conversion process. Bill Vardoulis, who is on the consulting team hired by the El Toro Reuse Planning Authority, will speak on what steps the planning authority is taking in deciding the base’s future uses.
Also, Laguna Niguel City Atty. Terry Dixon will discuss a countywide initiative on the November ballot calling for using the base as an airport.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the center, 24602 Aliso Creek Road.
