Angel starter Chuck Finley on the resurgence of Oakland, which has won 20 of their last 25 games, creeping to just two games behind Texas:
“They came out of nowhere. The first time they came through town, they kind of looked like a triple-A team. Then they started winning a few games.
“They were ready to plant tulips on (closer Dennis) Eckersley. They were ready to embalm him and pump the fluid in him. Now, they’re saying, ‘Let’s get to Eck. Let’s get to Eck.’ ”
