Although she’s been in a wheelchair most of her life, Annie Mackin has logged four trips to Europe since 1978, and last summer she decided to write a guide for other disabled travelers, “Wheelchair Through Europe.”
Mackin, 40, wrote her book with a budget in mind, seeking out accessible lodgings from $90 to $110 a night, double.
European travel, she says “can be difficult, can be challenging, but it’s not impossible. You miss a lot if you stay home.” To obtain a copy of her book, send check or money order for $12.95 to Graphic Language Press, P.O. Box 270, Cardiff by the Sea, Calif. 92007.
