No Need to Feel Guilty for Afternoon Fatigue

Re “Snooze Alert” (June 21): What an interesting article. I always thought that “three o’clock slump” was somehow my fault, not a part of a normal circadian cycle.
I never gave in to the impulse to nod off at my desk because at most companies, such behavior is grounds for instant dismissal.
I wonder if the day will ever come when management people realize that people are not windup machines, all alike, perfect and predictable. Maybe they have, and that’s why so many jobs have been taken over by automatons.
