ALTADENA : Library Hours Extended Sundays and Tuesdays
Due to recent voter approval of a library tax, the Altadena Library will be open Sunday afternoons and Tuesday evenings starting Sunday, officials announced.
The library, which is now closed on Sundays, will open from 1 to 5 p.m. On Tuesdays, library hours will be extended by three hours, to 9 p.m.
Altadena voters approved the library tax on June 7, 85.3% to 14.7%. The levy will draw an extra $29 a year from each homeowner, $20 from each apartment owner and $59 to $79 from each non-residential property owner.
The tax is projected to bring in $430,000 a year, restoring services to 1991 levels.
