MONTEREY PARK : New U.S. Citizens to Be Honored July 4
The city’s Fourth of July celebration at Barnes Memorial Park will include a ceremony to honor Monterey Park residents who became U.S. citizens in the past year.
The city will give special-recognition certificates to all city residents who became or will become citizens between July 1, 1993, and this Monday. Those eligible for a certificate should call the Parks and Recreation Department at (818) 307-1389 or Councilwoman Marie Purvis at (818) 280-9025.
Fourth of July celebrations start at 1 p.m. and include stage entertainment and food at the park, 400 S. McPherrin Ave. There will be fireworks at 9 p.m.
