BRIEFLY : Street Art: First-Ever Venice Service Award Goes to Caricature Artist

The Venice Beach Boardwalk Assn. has awarded caricature artist Walt Davis its first-ever Entertainers and Artist Community Service Award.
Davis, who regularly draws caricatures for boardwalk visitors, received the award last week for his years of participation in boardwalk improvement projects.
Davis will receive gift certificates and free meals from merchants valued at more than $200.
The Venice Boardwalk Assn. is an organization of merchants, property owners and residents along Oceanfront Walk. The award is intended to recognize artists’ talents as well as their contributions to the community.
