A score of police officers in patrol cars and on motorcycles chased an auto theft suspect through seven Orange County cities Wednesday before arresting him in Orange.
Gregory Scott Sullivan, 27, of Tustin was being held without bail in the Anaheim City Jail on suspicion of auto theft, possession of stolen property and evading officers, Sgt. Kennet G. Brott said.
The chase began just after noon in a shopping center at Lincoln Avenue and Beach Boulevard in Anaheim, police said. An officer noticed that the passenger window of a parked pickup truck was smashed, checked the vehicle’s license plate through a computer, and it came back as stolen, authorities said.
When Sullivan returned to the truck, he refused to pull over, Brott said, “and off we went.”
The chase, involving officers from various jurisdictions, proceeded through areas of Buena Park, Cypress, Fullerton, Brea, Yorba Linda, back to Anaheim and finally to Orange, Brott said. There were no collisions or injuries, and Sullivan was taken into custody without incident.
