SANTA ANA — Two people were burned out of their home Saturday when a fire that began in a closet destroyed their apartment, fire officials said.
A spokeswoman for the Santa Ana Fire Department said the fire, which was reported at 5:38 p.m., was contained to one apartment in a complex at 3800 S. Flower St. No one was in the apartment when the fire began.
Damage was estimated at $27,000.
Investigators believe the cause of the fire was accidental, but the investigation continued late Saturday. The names of the occupants were not available.
