COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Kindreich Leads Concordia Rally to Defeat Chapman in Baseball
Chris Kindreich went four for five with a home run and two runs batted in as Concordia rallied from a three-run deficit to beat Chapman, 8-5, in a nonconference baseball game Thursday at Hart Park.
Concordia pitcher Newell Allen recorded his first victory of the season, giving up six hits in 6 2/3 innings. James Maddock picked up his first save.
Concordia improved to 15-20-1. Chapman is 10-23-1.
In nonconference softball:
Concordia 3-8, Pacific Christian 0-0--Deb Taylor hit a home run in the first game and Julie Mangels drove in two runs with a double in the first inning of the second game for visiting Concordia (10-16).
Southern California College 4-9, San Diego 1-1--In the first game, Shannon Saylor pushed her record to 16-4 and Shannon O’Rourke was three for three with a double and two stolen bases for the Vanguards. Beth Howard pitched a four-hitter to record her 16th victory of the season in the second game.
