Golden Systems Inc., a Simi Valley producer of power supplies for personal computers, says it has arranged to establish its third overseas manufacturing plant.
The new facility, in Sri Lanka, will augment two plants already operating in India, according to Jay Tandon, Golden’s president and chief executive.
Tandon also announced that Compaq Computer Corp., a major Golden customer, has given approval for the manufacturing of its products in Golden’s plant in Madras, India.
Tandon is the younger brother of Sirjang (Jugi) Tandon, founder of Tandon Corp., a Simi Valley PC maker that filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last year. Jugi Tandon owns 3% of Golden’s stock.
Golden completed its initial public stock offering late last year.
