LAGUNA BEACH : Race to Aid School Rebuilding Program
Participants in the annual Laguna Beach Classic 10K/5K/1K race will help raise money to refurbish Thurston Middle School, which was damaged in October’s firestorm.
One dollar from each entry donation will go directly to the school’s rebuilding program. The rest of the money will also go to help schools, through the fund-raising organization SchoolPower.
The race April 24 is sponsored by Prudential Securities and Orange County BMW dealers. SchoolPower expects to draw more than 4,000 runners and raise more than $50,000.
Registration for the 10K and 5K races is $16 before April 16 and $20 afterward; registration for the 1K is $12 before April 10 and $15 afterward. For more information, call (714) 494-3980.
