James Bond Retrospective (TBS Sunday) offers three of the earliest and best in the series: Dr. No (7:35 a.m.), On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (10:05 a.m.) and From Russia With Love (4 p.m.).
The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp (Bravo Monday at 8:30 a.m.), the Michael Powell-Emeric Pressburger 1943 classic, stars a superb Roger Livesey as a kindly, aristocratic career officer, a symbol of British fair play who finds himself obsolete with the outbreak of World War II.
Dancing for Mr. B: Six Balachine Ballerinas (A&E; Thursday at 10 p.m.) is rich in anecdote, emotion and insight. Anne Bell’s 1990 documentary illuminates the careers and personal lives of major artists to get at something larger--the creation of American masterpieces and a company to perform them.
