Ford to Boost Production: The auto maker, enjoying strong demand for its cars and trucks, plans to boost its North American output by about 300,000 units this year, Chairman Alex Trotman said. The move will lift Ford’s production capacity in the United States and Canada to 5.1 million units a year. Most of the increase will be in higher production of the restyled Ford Mustang, the new Ford Contour and Mercury Mystique, the F-Series pickups and the new Ford Windstar minivan.
