Rockwell, Trucking Company Sign Deal
SEAL BEACH — Rockwell said Tuesday it has won a multimillion-dollar contract to install telecommunications systems in 1,000 trucks operated by J.B. Hunt Transport Services, the nation’s largest publicly held long-haul trucking company.
Rockwell, based in Seal Beach, would not give the specific value of the contract. The company previously received orders for its mobile communications systems from CRST and Florilli Trucking, both Iowa-based trucking companies.
The Rockwell Pro2000 Mobile Communication System relays two-way data messages by satellite and processes vehicle position reports using the Global Positioning System, a satellite-based navigation system. The systems are made by Collins Commercial Avionics, a Rockwell subsidiary in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
