SEASON AT A GLANCE: Nuesca scored a team-high 26 goals as the Regents (22-2) reached the Division IV semifinals Tuesday before losing to Chadwick, 2-1.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Nuesca, a midfielder, scored three goals in La Reina’s two playoff victories, and in the process became the school’s all-time leading scorer. The four-year starter scored both goals in the Regents’ 2-0 quarterfinal victory over Marlborough last Thursday. That gave her 86 in her career and broke the record of 84 set last season by Jaimie Armstrong. An unselfish player, Nuesca also has 64 assists, a school record. “She’s excellent,†Coach Joe Laraneta said. “She plays side to side, goal to goal and plays as hard defensively as she does offensively.â€
