Cypress Wins Softball Tournament

After advancing through the losers’ bracket, Cypress defeated El Camino twice to win the title of the Cypress softball tournament Sunday at Cypress.

Cypress (16-2) beat El Camino, 3-1, in the first game and, 9-0, in the second. Kim Stiglbauer shut out El Camino on five hits in the second game.

Kerry Moloney had two hits and three runs batted in for Cypress, which broke the game open with a five-run fifth inning. Earlier Sunday, Cypress also beat Orange Coast, 4-3, and Chaffey, 6-5, in games decided by international tiebreaker rules.
