The bodies of two men who were apparently shot to death were found Sunday evening inside a car on the Golden State Freeway near the Hungry Valley Road exit, authorities said.

A passing motorist discovered the bodies about 8 p.m. on the southbound side of the road and contacted authorities, said Deputy Diane Hecht, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Detectives were en route to the scene late Sunday and further details were not available, Hecht said.

Deputies from the Santa Clarita station aided by California Highway Patrol officers secured the scene until investigators arrived, she said.

In an unrelated incident in North Hollywood, a 33-year-old man was killed and two other men injured in a shooting at a crowded park about 4:20 p.m., said Sgt. Robert Ontiveros of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police have not yet determined a motive for the shooting in Magnolia Park, but Ontiveros said it did not appear to be gang-related because the victims were part of “an older, working-class crowd.â€

The park, located at the corner of Tujunga Avenue and Magnolia Boulevard, was filled with picnickers, soccer players and others enjoying a sunny Sunday, Ontiveros said.

The dead man, whose identity was not immediately available, was taken to the Medical Center of North Hollywood, where he died about an hour after the attack, Ontiveros said.
