SIMI VALLEY : WasteWatch Awards Open to Businesses
As part of an ongoing effort to encourage businesses to recycle, the city of Simi Valley is sponsoring its third annual WasteWatch Awards Program.
The Simi Valley program is coordinated by the Countywide Recycling Consortium, a collection of public and private groups promoting recycling. All businesses, schools and nonprofit organizations in Simi Valley are eligible to enter.
Last year’s winners included a tailor who stitched old dresses into new outfits, a printer who used recycled paper and a dry cleaning plant that recycled cleaning fluids.
Nomination forms are available through the city’s Department of Environmental Services at 2929 Tapo Canyon Road, or call 583-6753. Nominations will be accepted through March 15.
