DANA POINT : Smokey the Bear to Visit for Arbor Day
The city’s annual Arbor Day celebration will be held at Pines Park on Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m.
The event features several speakers who will discuss environmental conservation.
Other activities include a tree dedication, a workshop on nature and wildlife and a visit from Smokey the Bear.
Participants will get a free seedling and lunch. Awards also will be given for a coloring contest.
The deadline for returning entries to City Hall, 34052 Del Obispo Road, is today.
Pines Park, the site of a recent tree replacement program, is at Camino Capistrano, just south of Doheny Place.
