U.S. Hiring Should Keep Rising: Hiring by U.S. firms is expected to reach its highest level in five years this spring, led by manufacturers and builders, according to Manpower Inc.’s latest survey of 15,000 businesses. Manpower said that 27% of employers interviewed intend to increase hiring in the April-June quarter, while 7% project decreases. In the previous quarterly survey, 18% of employers said they would boost payrolls and 13% planned reductions. The Midwest will see the most hiring, and the West will see the least, according to the survey.
