Man Dies After He Is Found Stabbed in Santa Ana Street
SANTA ANA — A man died Saturday morning about seven hours after he was found lying in the street with a stab wound, and police said they have few clues in the crime.
An off-duty police officer discovered the semi-conscious victim just after 2 a.m., lying at the north curb of 2000 W. 1st St. in Santa Ana, authorities said. He had been stabbed in the abdomen and was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange.
The man underwent surgery at the hospital but was declared dead about 9 a.m.
Authorities withheld the name of the victim pending notification of his family.
Police officials said they have no leads on his attacker, and are asking anyone with information to call the department at (714) 834-4801.
