Coming Up Roses
Thank you for Dan Berger’s article on wine pricing (Restaurant News, Feb. 6). I have long since given up paying $30 in a restaurant for a wine that I can drink at home for $8. At a restaurant I would rather buy a single glass of wine and nurse it through the whole meal than to be coerced into paying exorbitant markups.
I have noted the restaurants Berger identifies as adding an eminently fair charge of $8 to $10 a bottle. Please list more. I am looking forward, again, to having a bottle of wine with my restaurant meal.
