COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Sebreros Helps Fullerton Edge Cerritos in Ninth Inning

Jimmy Sebreros’ sacrifice fly in the ninth inning gave Fullerton a 6-5 victory over Cerritos in a nonconference baseball game Thursday at Fullerton.
Fullerton had scored two runs in the eighth inning to tie the score, 5-5. Fullerton’s Steve Escobar started the ninth-inning rally with a one-out single. Royce Valent singled and Wade Farley reached on an error to load the bases, bringing Sebreros to the plate.
Sebreros had three hits, including a triple, scored two runs, and drove in three more for Fullerton (6-5-1). Cerritos is 8-3.
In other nonconference games:
Rancho Santiago 6, Palomar 4--Kirk Irvine pitched eight innings to gain his second victory and host Rancho Santiago (11-2) won its eighth consecutive game.
Long Beach 8, Orange Coast 4--Richard Ernst had two doubles, scored a run and drove in another for host Orange Coast (3-5). OCC’s Chris Yakura had three hits, including an RBI double.
Hancock 9, Golden West 8 (11 innings)--Chad Myers had an RBI double in the 11th for visiting Hancock (6-3). Rich Hughes had two hits and four RBIs for Golden West (6-5).
In nonconference softball:
Orange Coast 4, Cerritos 3--Annie Presutti and April Crosby had two-run doubles for host OCC.
