Nation IN BRIEF : FLORIDA : 2 Held in Death of Man, Rape of Sister

Two men were charged with murder and rape for an attack on a brother and sister they had befriended during a camping trip, police said. The brother was beaten to death, and the sister was raped twice while she was held captive overnight in a tent, police said. The men left the sister tied between two trees, but she escaped by chewing through the cords. William Christopher Paul, 20, and Loran K. Cole, 27, were arrested and charged with first-degree murder and two counts each of armed kidnaping, armed sexual battery and grand auto theft, according to Sgt. Joe Cobb, a spokesman for the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
