BRIEFLY : Government: 2 Westsiders Appointed to County Posts
Supervisor Ed Edelman has named two Westside residents to Los Angeles County commissions.
Brentwood resident Fredric Halperin has been appointed to the Los Angeles Convention and Exhibition Center Authority Commission. Halperin, president of the National Assn. of Real Estate Investment Managers, will join the 15-member commission to help supervise the construction and operation of a convention center.
Phalen G. Hurewitz, a resident of Beverly Hills, will serve on the Los Angeles County Commission for Children’s Services. An attorney and partner with the Beverly Hills firm of Manatt, Phelps & Phillip, Hurewitz is a specialist in copyright and entertainment law. As a commission member, he will review all county-administered children’s programs.
