Phillip Goldfine to Be Named VP at Trimark
Former New Line Cinema production executive Phillip B. Goldfine is expected to be named vice president of Trimark Pictures, where he will help the independent distributor boost its film production.
Goldfine most recently was vice president of production at New Line, which is now part of Turner Broadcasting Systems. In addition to his production duties at Trimark, he is expected to serve as a liaison with Trimark Interactive and Trimark Television.
Santa Monica-based Trimark plans to produce from 10 to 12 films this year. Upcoming films include “Separate Lives” with James Belushi and Linda Hamilton, and “Curse of the Starving Class” with Kathy Bates, James Woods and Louis Gossett Jr.
* Sony Pictures confirmed that John Feltheimer will be president of its new Columbia TriStar Television unit. Andrew J. Kaplan was named senior executive vice president.
* Rochel Blachman, as expected, was named senior vice president of business affairs for Paramount Pictures Motion Picture Group.
* Jay Marciano has been named president of MCA Concerts Inc. He succeeds Marc Bension, who resigned.
* William S. Weiner was hired as vice president of legal affairs for New Regency Productions.
* Jill Glass has been named vice president of marketing for A&M; Records. She will continue to oversee artist development, artist relations, production management and advertising merchandising departments.
* Former Capitol Records executive David Simone was named president of PolyGram Music Publishing Group.
* JVC Entertainment named Barr B. Potter as chairman and chief executive of Largo Entertainment. He succeeds Lawrence Gordon, who left recently for a production deal at Universal Pictures.
* Kathleen Bracken is the new creative services director at KCOP-TV.
* John Alexander was promoted to executive vice president of North American creative for MCA Music Publishing.
* Justin Yaros is the new director of music entertainment group information services for MCA’s corporate information services.
* Former International Creative Management agent David Goldman joined Bud Yorkin Productions as president of production.
* Genesis Entertainment named Gary S. Berberet as director of advertising and promotion.
* Paramount Network Television named Eileen Ige as vice president of network finance.
* Amy Brownstein joined Levine/Schneider Public Relations as senior account executive in the company’s “breakout department.”
