Interfaith Council to Discuss Hunger

The Rev. Robert Stewart, associate pastor at St. Mark Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach, and Gerry Leggett, area director for the Church World Service Hunger Walks, will lead a discussion of the “Interfaith Aspect of Local and Global Hunger Issues†at the Newport Mesa Irvine Interfaith Council luncheon Wednesday at noon.

The Interfaith Council meets on the third Wednesday of each month for fellowship, a light lunch and discussion of social issues. All are welcome.

The Center for Spiritual Development in Orange will offer Lenten services for five weeks beginning Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel.

Also, a seminar called “Pray to Live: Six Ways to Approach God†will take place Feb. 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for $30 per person, including lunch.

The Episcopal Church of the Messiah in Santa Ana will host its 50th annual Shrove Tuesday pancake supper Tuesday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the parish hall.

The public is invited to the dinner, which includes ham, applesauce, pancakes and beverages for $5 for adults and $2.50 for children. Desserts and baked goods will also be for sale.
