OXNARD : 2 Robbers Sought in Beating, Stabbing
Oxnard police are looking for two suspects who beat and stabbed a man in front of the Lucky’s Supermarket on West Hemlock Street in Oxnard, an Oxnard Police Department spokesman said.
John Donovan, 48, of Santa Paula was taken Tuesday night to St. John’s Regional Medical Center, where he was treated for a stab wound and lacerations, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Donovan was walking to his car parked near the supermarket when he was struck on the back of the head by one of the men, the police spokesman said.
Witnesses told police that while Donovan lay semiconscious on the ground, he attempted to ward off the attack and was stabbed in the neck by another man.
The suspects then rifled through Donovan’s pockets, stealing his car keys, credit cards and $75 in cash, before fleeing on foot, the spokesman said.
No arrests have been made and the robbery is under investigation, the spokesman said.
