Help That Counts
At Canyon High School in Anaheim, about 300 students, parents, teachers, staff and community members spent a recent Saturday sprucing up the campus at the second annual Canyon Pride Day.
Armed with a plan and armloads of donated materials, volunteer crews painted classrooms, benches, trash cans and the outdoor stage area by the cafeteria.
All the student restrooms got a new coat of paint; the plumbing was fixed and the floors scrubbed. Trees, shrubs and flowers were planted, and the library chairs and tables were refinished. Whew . . . and that’s just part of the list that was accomplished.
After blitzing the campus, the workers were fed a meal of hot dogs, salad and drinks, furnished by the Anaheim Hills Rotary Club.
