Planning Ahead: The South Orange County master-planned communities of Aliso Viejo and Mission Viejo accounted for 19% of the county’s new-home sales in 1993, according to the Meyers Group, a real estate consulting firm in Newport Beach. Aliso Viejo was the best selling master-planned community in the county last year, selling 706 homes. This 6,600-acre community has 14 new home neighborhoods currently selling and five more opening in the next two months, according to a spokeswoman for the Mission Viejo Co., the developer for the project.
