Analyst review: “Rockwell has proven to the world that whatever it does is well thought out, and usually very beneficial to the shareholder. It is run by some very smart people. The balance sheet is in good shape and it will be interesting to see what it does with its cash since its acquisition of Allen-Bradley in 1985 is paying off well for it now. The problem with investors is that when they hear about an acquisition, they expect to see immediate results. But sometimes it takes awhile. Rockwell has done an excellent job moving into non-defense industries. It is one of the few companies that has done a good job of diversifying. It hasn’t gotten bogged down by not knowing how to sell to other markets.”
