Kodak to Return to South Africa: The company, one of the biggest U.S. multinational firms to shun the South African market, said it will resume business activity there after a six-year absence. “We believe that South Africa is a viable long-term market, and we intend to participate in its bright future,” said Lloyd Deenik, Eastman Kodak Co. general manager for Africa. The nation’s first all-race election is set for late April. The company will initially concentrate on marketing Kodak products and laying the foundation for longer-term trade and business plans. It expects to employ 15 to 20 people by midyear.
