Woman, 59, Dies in Car Accident
A 59-year-old Simi Valley woman died when the car in which she was riding made a left turn in front of another car, police said Wednesday.
Yvette Sandra Mohr died of multiple injuries, Deputy Coroner Craig Stevens said.
Simi Valley Traffic Sgt. Jeff Malgren said the accident occurred at 5:38 p.m. Tuesday when Eugene James Mohr tried to make a left turn at the intersection of Cochran Street and Tracy Avenue in Simi Valley.
His car was broadsided on the passenger’s side by a car driven by Carlos Morales, 23, who was traveling east on Tracy Avenue. There was no sign that alcohol played a factor in the crash, Malgren said.
Yvette Mohr was taken to Simi Valley Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 6:32 p.m., Stevens said. Her husband was not injured, and Morales complained of some pain but was not treated at the hospital.
