Manila Signs Cease-Fire With Muslim Rebels

MANILA — The Philippine government signed a cease-fire pact Sunday with Muslim separatist guerrillas in another step toward ending a war that has killed more than 50,000 people in the last 20 years.
Manuel Yan, the chief Philippine negotiator in peace talks with the Moro National Liberation Front headed by Nur Misuari, signed the agreement after a government panel finished studying it.
Misuari signed the agreement Wednesday.
