3 Arrested in Huntington Robbery, Beating
HUNTINGTON BEACH — Three transients were arrested on suspicion of armed robbery late Saturday after they beat and robbed a Costa Mesa man who was walking in the flood control channel, police said.
Pablo Gavino Rosas, 32, was attacked about 7:30 p.m. as he walked under a bridge at Hamilton Avenue near Brookhurst Street. The men hit Rosas, knocked him down and kicked him before stealing his radio, a small amount of cash and some beer, Lt. Jeff Cope said.
The suspects--identified as Oerliso Ortunio, 28, Jaime Laredo Aquino, 39, and Manuel Rio Salcedo, 29--were arrested after police found them hiding under a nearby bridge a short time later, police said. Each was being held in the Huntington Beach Jail Sunday on $50,000 bail.
