A food and clothing collection center has opened in Santa Ana to assist the region’s earthquake victims.
Donations of clean, neatly packaged clothing, baby food, disposable diapers and non-perishable food items, such as canned goods, will be accepted at the center, which is at O’Neil Moving and Storage, 2061 S. Ritchey St.
Food should be stacked in boxes. Individual garments cannot be accepted.
The Orange County chapter of the American Red Cross and the area’s Catholic Charities are sponsoring the collection center, which will remain open “until the needs of the people affected are met,” organizers said.
The center will be open weekdays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. For more details, or information about making corporate donations, call the local Red Cross at (714) 835-5381.
