A Bell Atlantic Corp. executive said that the regional telephone company and the cable giant Tele-Communications Inc. expect to reach a definitive merger agreement in about two weeks, with no major changes in the $33-billion deal expected. . . . NCR Corp. has dropped its 110-year-old initials and taken the name of American Telephone & Telegraph Co., its new parent company. NCR is now AT&T; Global Information Solutions. . . . Pittsburgh-based USX Corp. is offering 4.5 million shares of its steel stock for sale in early February. USX said it intends to sell the shares for $41 each to raise between $180 million and $200 million for steel operations. . . . Cincinnati-based United States Shoe Corp. said it will eliminate about 700 jobs this year, resulting in a $14.5-million charge against 1993 fourth-quarter earnings.
