Exxon Corp. Profit Up 7%: The company credited the gain to higher profits for refining and marketing efforts as well as its chemical operation, which also benefited from lower oil costs. Exxon said it earned $1.5 billion, or $1.20 per share, in the fourth quarter, up from $1.4 billion, or $1.12 a share, the year before. Revenue was $27.84 billion, down from the fourth quarter of 1992.
