Bus Driver Fired for Long Fingernails
Associated Press
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — A Malaysian bus driver was fired after he refused to cut his nearly six-inch fingernails.
Malaysia’s road department told Jaafar Nordin that the fingernails not only look bad but could hinder his driving. When Nordin refused to cut them, the department revoked his driver’s license.
The last time Nordin cut his hair and nails was five years ago, when he accepted a friend’s challenge to let them grow until he gets married, which will be at the end of this year.
