FULLERTON : Ladera Vista Pupils Launch Quake Drive
Students at Ladera Vista Junior High School are in the midst of a drive to raise $1,000 to help victims of the recent earthquake.
Teacher Andi Goettinger said students took coffee cans around the school Wednesday to collect money from teachers and other students. About $300 has been raised so far and the drive will continue through today, she said.
Goettinger said students also raised about $1,000 after the Loma Prieta earthquake for victims in Northern California. All the money will go to the American Red Cross, she said.
Students have been eager to raise money, Goettinger said. “As long as those aftershocks keep shaking, people are real interested.â€
