BOWLING : Himmler Leads in Lakewood
Cincinnati’s Brian Himmler built a 12-game total of 2,769 to take the lead after two rounds of the AC/Delco PBA Tournament at Cal Bowl in Lakewood.
Steve Hoskins of Tarpon Springs, Fla., had opened a first-round lead earlier Wednesday, bowling games of 247, 238, 235, 224, 236 and 234 for a total of 1,414.
But Hoskins slipped slightly off the pace in the second round as Himmler rolled games of 226, 246, 268, 248, 248 and 246 to take a 2,769-2,761 lead.
Joe Firpo of Lakewood, Fla., is in third place at 2,754.
In the first round, Atlanta’s Brian Voss rolled a perfect game before a packed audience, but cheers were silenced at about 1:12 p.m. when aftershocks rocked the center.
