HUNTINGTON BEACH : Wetlands Group Picks New President
Chuck Nelson has been elected president of Amigos de Bolsa Chica, an organization of about 1,000 families dedicated to preserving and restoring 1,100 acres of wetlands and open space in the Bolsa Chica Wetlands.
Nelson, 41, succeeds Terry Dolton, who is stepping down after three consecutive terms as the organization’s president.
A Huntington Beach resident, Nelson is a supervisor in the Social Security office in Garden Grove. He’s been a member of Amigos for about 10 years and served as the group’s vice president last year.
Other officers elected were Tom Livengood, vice president; Jean Laughlin, secretary, and Virginia Moore, treasurer.
