LOS ANGELES : Red Cross Issues Appeal for Type O Blood Donors

Citing a critically low supply of blood, the American Red Cross on Wednesday issued an emergency appeal for Type O blood donors to help replenish stock and avoid a crisis.
People with any blood type can receive Type O blood. It is extremely useful when time does not permit the recipient’s own blood to be typed and a match to be found, according to Pamela Corante, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles chapter of the Red Cross.
