Wally George, punk rocker?
The irascible right-wing TV talk show host will be the master of ceremonies for an upcoming night of punk rock at the Ice House in Fullerton, and word is he’ll even be singing with one of the bands.
Dubbed “Wally George’s Outrageous Rock Shindig,” the concert Jan. 28 will find George presiding over a bill of five grass-roots Orange County bands: Sublime, Guttermouth, Nuckle Brothers, One Eye Open and Game Face. The show’s promoter, John Pantle, said that his band, the Nuckle Brothers, will serve as George’s backup for a rendition of the blues chestnut “Kansas City.”
Pantle said George will feature the bands on his “Hot Seat With Wally George” program on KDOC Channel 56 as a prelude to the concert. Advance tickets are on sale at Bionic Records in Huntington Beach, Cypress and Fullerton. Information: (714) 323-8683.
