Texas Instruments Sues Cyrix: An alliance of the two computer chip makers, which appeared to challenge market leader Intel Corp., has suffered a rift. Texas Instruments Inc. accuses Cyrix Corp. of refusing to live up to an exchange of intellectual property for manufacturing capacity. The companies agreed in 1991 that Texas Instruments would manufacture microprocessors designed by Cyrix. In exchange, Cyrix was to sell designs of its chips to Texas Instruments for manufacture under its brand name.
