The United Nations has resumed its visitor tours after canceling them in mid-September when officials decided that security measures were inadequate to protect the General Assembly, Security Council and Secretariat buildings.
Visitors are no longer shown the chambers of the Security Council and tour groups have been reduced from 25 to 15 participants.
Guided tours are available Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. They leave every half hour and take about 45 minutes. Tickets are $6.50 for adults, $4.50 for senior citizens and high school students and $3.50 for elementary and junior high students. Children under 5 are not allowed on tours.
