PREP SOCCER : Santa Margarita Shuts Out No. 1 Santa Ana

Matt Blasdel scored on a penalty kick in the first half and Seth George scored in the second half to lead Santa Margarita to a 2-0 victory over No. 1 Santa Ana in a nonleague boys’ soccer game Friday at Santa Ana.
Goalkeeper Brian Casola had five saves for the Eagles (3-0), who haven’t allowed a goal this season. Santa Ana dropped to 2-2.
In other boys’ nonleague soccer:
El Dorado 2, Canyon 1--Luciano Cid and Brian Hurley scored in the second half to lead host El Dorado (3-0), ranked fourth in the county.
Cid’s goal 19 minutes into the half tied the score, 1-1, and with four minutes, left Hurley rebounded a shot by Cid and scored the winning goal. It was Hurley’s third game-winner in three games.
El Dorado goalkeeper Mark Zubiate had 15 saves, including five in the final two minutes.
Buena Park 3, Orange Lutheran 0--Kyle Sarsaraz and Bryon Loyes scored for Buena Park (3-1). Jose Barera added the third goal with an assist from Alex Chavez.
Costa Mesa 4, Santiago 2--Miguel Corrales scored two goals for Costa Mesa (4-1).
Orange 2, Loara 1--Brothers Steven and Jamie Gonzalez each scored for Orange (3-1-1).
Savanna 4, Kennedy 3--Daniel Moise scored four goals for Savanna (2-2-2).
Mater Dei 5, Servite 0--Brian Campbell and Danny Cook each had two goals and Kevin Quigley added one to lead visiting Mater Dei (3-0).
Anaheim 3, Westminster 1--Elmer Rivas and Juan Lopez scored in the second half to break a 1-1 tie for Anaheim (4-0). Jose Sanchez scored in the first half for the Colonists.
Woodbridge 4, Mission Viejo 1--Shawn Saunders scored two goals and Doug Childers and Saul Fisher each added one to lead host Woodbridge (4-1).
Sonora 3, Ontario 2--Mauricio Solis, Chris Fernandez and Paul Copeland each scored to lead Sonora (3-0-1).
In the Irvine boys’ soccer tournament:
Corona del Mar 2, El Toro 0--Dave Gundlach and Eric Olsen each scored in the second half for the Sea Kings (4-0-1) in the third-place game.
In the Irvine girls’ soccer tournament:
Laguna Hills 1, Woodbridge 0--Stacey Mimura scored the only goal in the third-place game.
Corona del Mar 3, Villa Park 1--Stefanie Hughes, Ali Havriluk and Whitney West each scored goals to lead Corona del Mar (2-1-2) to the consolation title.
In the Vanguard Cup girls’ soccer tournament:
El Modena 2, Trabuco Hills 1--Kaylee Whitfield scored on a penalty kick midway through the second half and Stephanie Esparaza scored with a minute left on an assist from Whitfield to give the Vanguards the comeback victory. Linsey Rogers scored on a penalty kick six minutes into the game for Trabuco Hills (0-3).
Capistrano Valley 4, Sunny Hills 0--Mandy Faulk, Sarah Hannay, Renee Parker and Erin Daley each scored for No. 2 Capistrano Valley.
In girls’ nonleague soccer:
Orange Lutheran 5, Santa Ana Valley 0--Brooke Parkinson, who returned to the lineup this week after an injury, scored three goals for Orange Lutheran (3-1). Amy Ward and Shawnna Johnson each scored one.
