L.A. Baptist 43, Brethren Christian 21--L.A. Baptist (13-0) scored 27 second-quarter points to build a 34-14 halftime lead en route to the Division X title at Birmingham High in Van Nuys.
Senior quarterback Zack Hernandez completed nine of 13 passes for 227 yards and three touchdowns, with one interception. His favorite target was senior Jim Romero, who caught seven passes for 212 yards and scored three touchdowns.
Senior running back Dana Berg had a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, caught two passes for 25 yards and rushed six times for 51 yards and two touchdowns.
Trenton Mooney of Baptist, a senior linebacker, led a defense that limited the Warriors to 193 total yards.
Keith Washington gained 102 in 22 carries and scored three touchdowns in 22 carries for Brethren Christian (11-3).
