PANORAMA CITY — A 61-year-old man died Friday after he lost control of his pickup truck and it struck another vehicle head-on, Los Angeles police said.
Dawn Hamm, 34, of Panorama City, who was driving the other vehicle, was in serious condition at Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, Officer Clark Baker said.
Her two children, a 6-year-old girl and 9-year-old boy, were not seriously injured in the accident, Baker said.
The collision occurred about 4:35 p.m. on Nordhoff Street near Hazeltine Avenue in Panorama City when a pickup driven by Ignacio Acevedo of Los Angeles crossed the center divider and hit Hamm’s car, Baker said. Acevedo was killed instantly, he said.
